What are the Symptoms and Cure for Cataracts?
Friday, September 13, 11 a.m.

Join Dr. Sahmon Chinichian, an ophthalmology specialist with Nevada Eye Physicians, on September 13 and learn about the symptoms and treatments for Cataracts, one of the leading causes of visual decline in people above the age 50.  Human eyes have a natural lens inside the eye that helps focus and see things. Due to the natural aging process, the natural lens can become cloudy and interfere with vision.

If you have difficulty with activities, such as night driving, watching TV, reading, computer work etc., you should have your eyes checked.

Cataract surgery is the best cure for this condition. It’s one of the most simple and successful procedures performed in medicine today.  After surgery, patients usually return to regular activities with 24-48 hours.

What Can You Do If You Develop Neck Pain?
Tuesday, September 24, 11 a.m.

Most episodes of neck pain are due to muscle strain or soft tissue sprain (ligaments, tendons), but it can also be caused by a sudden force (whiplash). These types of neck pain often improve with time and non-surgical care such as, medication and physical therapy. But if neck pain continues or worsens, there is often a specific condition that requires treatment, such as cervical degenerative disc disease, cervical herniated disc, cervical stenosis or cervical arthritis.

Duel certified, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapist, Dr. Mike Rantissi, PT/OT, owner of Advanced Manual Therapy, will discuss different neck pain causes, treatments, and home exercises. He will also explain how daily habits and posture cause and contribute to neck pain. Daily activities such as your sleeping position, sitting posture and sport activities can also contribute to neck pain without you realizing it. Dr. Rantissi will provide information on how to avoid neck pain and what to do if you develop it.
