![]() DIAL 211… FIND OUT HOW IT CAN HELP YOU!
Monday, January 27, 10 a.m.
Join Paul Thornton, Community Outreach, Education, & Relationship Specialist for Nevada 211. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) designated 211 as the non-emergency number in the year 2000, partly to alleviate the burden on 911 call centers and to provide basic non-emergency health and human services to Nevadans.
Nevada’s local 211 is a free, easy to remember telephone number that connects callers to information about critical health and human services available in their community. Call Center Specialists will connect you with many valuable agencies and programs offering resources for basic human needs, physical and mental health, prescriptions, respite care, in-home assistance and much, much more.
Call Center Specialists take more than 10,000 calls per month and are trained to assist callers in navigating the sometimes confusing maze of finding the right agency for the desired services. This free, confidential service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days per year. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about 211 and how it might help you!

LIVING A LONG AND HEALTHY LIFE
Wednesday, January 29, 10 a.m.
We all desire to live a long and healthy life. But do those extra trips around the sun really mean adding quality, healthy years? For most of us, our lifespan far exceeds our health span, meaning there is a gap between the number of years we live and the number of years we live healthfully. Maximizing your health span is all about learning how to put health back into your years, so you can live life to the fullest.

LUNCH ‘N’ LEARN
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT “GOING SOLAR”
Friday, January 31, 11 a.m.
Join Jorge Saal of ROBCO Electric on January 31 and get the facts you need to make an educated decision about going solar, especially because NV Energy prices are going up. You will learn:
How solar works with the “Grid” - The bidirectional meter measures your energy usage, and excess energy goes back to the “Grid” and gets credited to your account at 75% of the retail price.
Get a smaller bill with Net Metering - With net metering, NV Energy credits your power bill for the excess energy produced. What you send back wipes out what you use at 100% - a 1-for-1 ratio. Any extra production for the month is banked at 75% of the retail price. You’ll use that credit to pay for any power you need from the grid, at night or during the summer.
The Federal solar tax credit -The largest, non-income limited tax credit you can get. It’s not a deduction. Credits reduce how much you owe in taxes. As of August 2022, the credit is 30% of the cost of your system. You can carry over unused credit to future tax years.
He will also discuss what “going solar” should cost and ways to finance it.
Please register at the Front Desk by January 29.
