MANAGER'S MESSAGE

Hello Residents,

I can’t believe I celebrated my one-year Anniversary as your General Manager this month. I think life takes you to places where you are supposed to be. From the minute I walked through the door last year, I felt that this was the place I needed to be.

My experience the first day was amazing. I felt comfortable walking into the building and the Front Desk staff warmly greeted me. I saw so much activity, people playing billiards and walking back and forth. The atmosphere was so warm, friendly and busy.  Everyone was focused on making sure that people who came through the Community Center were having a great experience. I was very touched.

It has been an exciting journey.  I have had the privilege of working with a dedicated Board of Directors and an incredible team of staff members who have all helped me to succeed. We have accomplished a great many things working together over the past 12 months.

A few of the highlights over the past year include: the major renovation of the pool area, resurfacing of the pickleball courts and the restrooms adjacent to the courts, the introduction of electronic voting for the Board of Directors Election, the Sun City Aliante Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony, the Veteran’s Monument Re-dedication Ceremony, and expansion of The Breeze magazine from 52 to 60 pages, to name a few.

We are now moving forward with a plan to update the remaining areas of the building that were not included in the previous Expansion and Renovation of the Community Center.

Please attend the next Board Meeting on Wednesday, May 6 at 6 p.m. in the Vista Room for more details on the renovation refresh.

BEWARE OF DOOR KNOCKERS

Recently, it has brought to my attention that a vendor, TruGreen, has been knocking on doors in the community claiming that the HOA has sent them to your home to help resolve your "weed problems and landscaping issues."  THIS IS NOT THE CASE.

Please rest assured that at no time would your HOA send a vendor to your door.  Sun City Aliante and Management will always communicate any information via email, letter, or a direct call from our Sun City Aliante phone line which would appear on your caller ID.

In the future, if anyone approaches you representing the HOA and tries to sell you a service, please call the Front Desk immediately at 702-638-5000.  You can also call GARDA Security at
 702-417-0238.

Thank you to the Property & Grounds Committee for all the hard work you are currently doing for the Refresh Project described below:

  • Conference Room - Exploring modern, refresh options which will include new carpet, new paint, new art, new technology, storage options and homeowner seating for larger meetings.
  • Fireplace Room - The intention is to give it a flexible feel which currently includes seating areas and the addition of multi-game use tables to match the ones to be used in the Activity Room.
  • Assistant General Manager's Office (Dan) - New paint, desk and guest chairs.
  • Customer Service Office Office (Carol) - Full refresh - new paint, new carpet, new art, new office furniture, and guest seating.  This office has never been updated since 2003. (This is the first office new homeowners visit when establishing their residency at Sun City Aliante.)

I hope this clears up some of the misunderstandings of how your Capital Funds are being spent. More details to come soon.

As we close out our week, take a moment to say hello to your neighbor and get to know each other.  Let's all be kind to each other.

Finally,

This week we said goodbye to our long-term employee Angie Stepp.
Angie has decided to move out of state to be closer to her family.  She will have time to enjoy her children and grandchildren.

We will all miss her dearly!

For you night owls... check out the night sky for active media showers through April 30.
